9 октября 2025 года в рамках подготовки нового совместного проекта по устойчивому развитию и экологической этнографии состоялась встреча руководства БГУ им. К.Карасаева с профессором Закари Рейна, представителем партнёрского университета Конструктор Бремен (Германия). В ходе встречи были обсуждены направления будущего сотрудничества в рамках инициативы Green Deal for Central Asian Universities и предстоящей грантовой заявки.
Special attention was given to engaging with communities that preserve traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) — such as eagle hunters, herders, traditional healers, and bearers of oral traditions. The discussion also covered opportunities for conducting field research and involving BSU students in ethnographic and environmental projects.
It was noted that the project will contribute to the development of scientific partnerships, the expansion of the international cooperation network, and the strengthening of BSU’s role as a research center in the fields of ecology, culture, and sustainable development in Central Asia.
