Department for the Organization of R&D and Academic Staff Training

Department for the Organization of R&D and Academic Staff Training operates with the goal of developing and supporting scientific research. This research serves as the foundation for deepening education and improving the training of competitive specialists who possess the necessary professional competencies and scientific methods of inquiry.The Department’s main objectives are:

  • Organizing and coordinating the University's research activities;
  • Promoting the effective use and development of the scientific potential of the University's faculty;
  • Expanding research topics and improving the quality of scientific research
  • Monitoring the status and implementation of R&D
  • Ensuring a close connection between scientific activity and the educational process
  • Planning, organizing, and hosting international, regional, interuniversity, and intra-university scientific-practical and scientific-theoretical conferences, seminars, roundtables, etc., in cooperation with academic departments
  • Developing cooperation and partnerships with other institutions and organizations in the field of research activities
  • Providing consulting and methodological assistance to University subdivisions in the development of research work
  • Improving research work in accordance with the requirements of the quality management system, among other goals

In pursuit of these objectives, the Office is tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Providing scientific support for the educational process and specialist training
  • Developing international partnerships in the scientific and educational fields
  • Developing fundamental, applied, and innovative research based on advancing the scientific qualifications of staff and students
  • Organizing the participation of institute instructors in scientific conferences, competitions, and seminars at various levels by preparing articles and methodological developments
  • Increasing the publication activity of the faculty and researchers

In accordance with its goals and objectives, the Office performs the following functions:

Providing consulting services to instructors and students on all matters regarding the organization and execution of research work;

Ensuring the integration of scientific and educational activities

Disseminating the latest achievements of science, and publishing scientific, educational, methodological, and reference literature containing the results of BSU scientific activities, including the BSU Bulletin, Izvestiya BSU, Scientific Problems of Socio-Economic and Human Sciences and Kyrgyz language and literature

Coordinating and providing organizational support for research work at the University, summarizing and analyzing its results, and submitting reports on it

Participating in the preparation and execution of student scientific-practical conferences

Organizing student participation in regional, national, and international scientific conferences and competitions in cooperation with academic departments

Disseminating information about scientific competitions, conferences, symposiums, seminars, grants, research applications, and opportunities for publishing research results

Concluding scientific cooperation agreements with other universities, scientific organizations, and enterprises of all forms of ownership

PhD programs, master’s programs, and doctoral programs are the main forms of training in the postgraduate professional education system. The training of doctoral and master’s students at the university is conducted in various fields and specializations in accordance with the license issued by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Department coordinates the activities of postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, and degree applicants (soiskateli).

Aspirantura training is conducted across 18 specialties and 9 fields: pedagogical, economic, philological, psychological, sociological, political, and geographical sciences.

The program offers various platforms to share and validate research findings, including conferences, seminars, and classes. These results are continuously published and discussed at scientific conferences, workshops, and meetings of the University Academic Council.

BSU also implements Degree Applicants (Soiskatelstvo), an independent form of thesis research for specialists attached to higher education institutions without formal enrollment in a doctoral program.

  3. Photocopy of the Higher Education Diploma and its supplement (transcript).
  4. For foreign citizens who studied outside Kyrgyzstan: A certificate of equivalence for the higher education diploma issued by the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic
  5. Personal data sheet (Lichny listok po uchetu kadrov) with one 4x6 cm photo

and one 3x4 cm photo.

  • Autobiography.
  • Photocopy of the employment record book (trudovaya knizhka).
  • Letter of recommendation from the workplace for admission to Aspirantura.
  • A scientific essay (referat) on the chosen specialty (20–25 pages) OR a list of published scientific articles certified by the Academic Secretary along with photocopies of the articles.
  • Feedback/evaluation of the essay from the prospective academic advisor.
  • A letter of consent from the prospective academic advisor agreeing to supervise the student.

  1. Application addressed to the Rector of BSU, specifying the chosen field of study.
  2. A brief justification of the preliminary dissertation topic.
  3. A copy of a language proficiency certificate demonstrating the level of Russian, Kyrgyz, or English (mandatory for foreign citizens).
  4. List of scientific works (if available).
  5. 6 photos measuring 3 x 4 cm;
  6. Personal data sheet and a document confirming employment history (for individuals with work experience).
  7. Сopy of passport and higher education/Master's diploma (for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic).
  8. Translated (into Kyrgyz/Russian) and notarized copy of passport and higher education/Master's diploma (for foreign citizens).
  9. A certificate from the authorized state body in the field of education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic confirming the level and content of educational documents issued by foreign educational institutions.
  10. Medical insurance policy (for foreign citizens).
