On April 24–25, 2025, an international conference entitled “Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development: Towards the Bishkek+25 Summit” was held in Bishkek. The event was attended by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, who emphasized the importance of joint actions to preserve mountain ecosystems and sustainable development.
The conference was also attended by the rector of the Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev Mirlan Dyldaev and the head of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Natural Sciences of the Faculty of Ecology and Management Alykul Orozaliev.
The conference focused on global climate change, ecosystem degradation and social issues in mountain regions. It called for increased international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals.
The conference was attended by representatives from more than 50 countries in Europe, Asia, America, Africa and Australia, as well as about 30 international organizations, scientists and experts.
