Student Research Work at the University

Student research work is one of the most critical means of improving the training and upbringing quality of specialists with higher professional education in the fields of economics and jurisprudence. It aims to develop professionals who are capable of creatively applying the achievements of scientific, technological, and cultural progress into their practical activities.

Engaging students in research work allows the university to utilize their creative potential to solve pressing R&D problems.

The main objectives of students' research work are:

• Mastering Methods of Inquiry: Helping students master scientific methods of cognition and achieve an in-depth, creative understanding of educational materials;

• Methodological Training: Teaching the methodology, tools, and techniques required for solving scientific problems independently;

• Teamwork and Organization: Instilling essential skills for working within scientific teams, and familiarizing students with the methods and techniques of organizing R&D.

Student research work serves as an extension and deepening of the standard educational process and is organized directly within the university's academic departments.

The supervision of student research is carried out by the professors and instructors of the university.

Student research work is subdivided into two main categories: research integrated into the curriculum (academic hours) and research conducted during extracurricular time.

1. Research Work Integrated into the Educational Process Includes:

• Completing assignments, term papers (courseworks), and graduation theses (diploma works) that contain distinct elements of scientific research;

• Studying the theoretical foundations of research methodology, as well as the design, organization, and execution of scientific studies;

Student research work is fully integrated into the general scientific work plans of the university, its faculties, and its departments. The research findings of undergraduate and Master's students are presented at annual student scientific conferences and interuniversity scientific-practical conferences for graduate students, including: • "Philological Education, Linguistics, Pedagogy, Journalism, and Regional Studies: Modern Research Issues" • "Socio-Economic Problems of Youth: Potential, Risks, Cooperation" • "The COVID-19 Pandemic: New Vectors of Economic Development" • "Ensuring Economic Growth under Epidemiological and Socio-Economic Crises" • "Priority Areas for Economic Development in the Regions of Digitalization of the Kyrgyz Republic" • "Strategies for Innovative Economic Development in Kyrgyzstan" • "Pedagogy" Additionally, outstanding student research results may be published in various academic publications, including the BSU Bulletin (Vestnik BSU).

Every year, the faculties host numerous roundtables, as well as international, national, interuniversity, and intra-university scientific conferences across various disciplines. Students also have the opportunity to participate in more than 10 specialized academic clubs and circles.
